Ravens release kicker Steve Hauschka.

Damn, didn’t see that one coming. More as we hear it.

Update (11/18/09 11 AM) - WNST and Aaron Wilson are reporting “rumblings” that the new kicker will be Billy Cundiff. Cundiff was 6/6 for Cleveland in 2009. He did not play in the league in 2007 or 2008, after spending 2002-2005 in Dallas.

See Cundiff’s page on NFL.com

Update 11:15 AM – Reports are confirmed that the Ravens have signed Billy Cundiff.

And now, for an unscheduled version of “Lookalikes!”

Cundiff

For cryin’ out loud. Let’s hope the similarities end there.

LOL just a taint of sarcasm I hope.

Even better, facing Matt Stover the next game.

It’s actually not sarcasm. I know they aren’t happy with him, but I’m really surprised they released him. I thought at the most they would bring somebody else on and let Hausch keep doing kickoffs, at least for a few weeks.

No no, it’d only be a matter of time before he would’ve surprised us with a bad kickoff to the left. I’m happy they booted him.
